We often talked of playing in the snow but between both of us working and being in school, it just never happened.
It was our 11 month anniversary, so we figured it would be a good way to celebrate!
On January 21st, Jay and I went to DI in search for clothes for a snowman.
We took our DI snowman attire to a park in Orem.
There wasn't a lot of snow on the ground due to a really dry winter, but we did our best.
It was quite pathetic actually...
While wrestling in the snow, a ring pop fell out of Jay's pocket.
He smiled and said, "um... it's an addition to our snowman."
Jay placed the ring on the stick of the snowman, then got on his knees and proposed.
I said, YES. We hugged and kissed and played in the snow.
He proposed without a ring, but told me he was so sorry and would have one by April.
I was just thrilled to be engaged, it really didn't matter anymore. I could be patient for a ring!
We got back in the car.
Jay grabbed his phone and said he was going to call his mom to tell her the good news.
But the phone appeared to be dead.
He instructed me to get the charger which was in his glove box.
I opened up the glove box to find a gold box with a white ribbon.
My heart sank. I ripped open the box and there it was- the most beautiful ring I had ever seen!
Jay sweetly smiled and said, "tricked you."
He definitely did!
Often he gives me a hard time for crying when I saw the ring, and not when he actually proposed to me.
But it was the way he caught me off guard that made me so emotional!
I couldn't even say how many compliments I got at school the next day. And how many times I told the proposal story.
But I didn't mind it one bit. I loved the story even more each time I told it.
