Independence Day 2010

Because the 4th of July landed on a Sunday this year, and because we live in Utah, Independence Day was celebrated on the 3rd of July.
The day started with the Freedom Festival. Every year, Paul Mitchell The School has a booth set up for free up-dos. This year my dear friend Aly and I decided to participate in return for some extra hours. The event itself was a little bit gross, hot, and long... But we did it, its over, we have extra hours, and had fun making shirts!

Jay and I met up with some good friends Caleb and Janni at Cafe Rio then took our food up to Squaw Peak and killed some time until the fireworks. I had never been up to Squaw Peak before and rumor has it for BYU students, its the ultimate make out spot. I personally don't understand the allurement of it all. Driving up a windy road for about 10 minutes to reach your destination that happens to be one of the most beautiful sights, wouldn't you want to just gaze at it instead?

But hey that's just me.

It was a great time with our friends! The boys played catch, Janni and I took pictures, we all played some cards, and just enjoyed quality time with one another. We were able to see multiple showings of fireworks and looking down rather than up to watch them was a fun experience. I would definitely do this all over again.
