Not Our Best

Monday and Tuesday were normal, wonderful days. On Wednesday, Jay was feeling a cold coming on which only worsened over night. This couldn’t have come at a better time (sarcasm); the poor man was in the middle of studying for the GRE test. Basically when applying for Grad Schools, your score is a big factor in determining where you’ll be accepted. The test was already scheduled and paid for, so as you could imagine, a bad cold didn’t help the situation.

Jay pulled through and got a great score on the test! Now he just needs to finish the application process for Grad School and hopefully soon we’ll know our next destination.

Look at him he's got his nose spray, cough drops, cold medicine, water, box of tissues, a used bag of tissues, AND his GRE book. Such a hard worker. Although in this picture I think he ws actually playing a computer game ha... Love you, nerd.

On Thursday I got off work at and was anxious to come and take care of my sweet, sick husband. As I came to the light at 800 north, just seconds from our place, I saw the car in front of me slam on his breaks, so I slammed on mine. As a natural reaction I looked in my rear view mirror to make sure the car behind me saw that I had stopped… it had not. At this point there was nothing I could do but try and brace myself for the hit that was coming. It happened all so fast that I didn’t have time to react.
The hit on my car pushed me into the car in front of me, which pushed that car into the car that was in front of it. I remember screaming (I’m a little dramatic, yes) and my head bobbling back and forth. The very first thing I thought to do was call Jay and even though he was sick, he came very quickly to my rescue.
We all got out of our cars, exchanged info, and waited for the police. Besides feeling a little shook up when I got home, I was doing ok. Sure enough it hit me the next day and my neck was killing! The doctor told me it was just whiplash, then gave me muscle relaxers and said I should be fine within a week. Here we are on Sunday and other than a headache, I’m feeling pretty good. Now as for my sweet little Mirage…

 ...she's seen better days.

I would say let's celebrate, but maybe we should wait till everyone's doing a little better. As for your accident... they are never fun and it's sad to see your sad little car all banged up.. :-( i'm glad you are ok though.

Oh she is such a sad Mirage!!! I'm glad your whiplash is getting better; thank goodness you were not hurt worse! You are such a sweet wife to take care of your sick hubby so well. I can't wait to see where you guys get to go for Grad school!
