At last we hiked the Y!
I've been wanting to do it ever since I moved here. And I've been yearning to go hiking for a while, so I was stoked when Jay suggested it for today!
The drive to get there was a disaster because of the Independence Day parade going on, most main roads were blocked off.
But we made it!
It was so much more exhausting than we anticipated.
I am a little embarrassed to admit how out of shape I am. And poor Jay doesn't have the best ankle.
I asked a few people about the hike beforehand, and they made it sound like it was no biggie. Those people were wrong!
The whole way is up is well, up... And it is oh, so steep.
There are 12 switch backs that take you to the top of the Y. However, if you're a weaklings like us and can't possibly imagine another 3 switch backs, you settle for the bottom of the Y at switch back number 9.

It was totally worth it.
With my amazing lens, we were able to spot out lots of different places...
Our neighborhood Seven Peaks
BYU Provo Temple
Of course coming back down took only maybe 20 minutes.
Once we finished Jay said, "So... We're never doing that again k?"
I laughed and told him, "No, not again if we're still this out of shape!"
We both enjoy hiking, but next time we just might choose an easier trail.

Nothing like a huge cup of Powerade to quench the thirst.
Celebrated the rest of the day with lots of relaxation and of course, some good grub.
Homemade rolls, fruit salad and a pork roast yummm.
Happy 4th!
