TRC

Last Saturday along with a few other ward memebers, Jay and I volunteered at the TRC.

TRC is the Teaching Resource Center at the MTC.
Its basically a section of the MTC with little [and I mean little] rooms where the missionaries
can practice their lessons to volunteers who act as investigators.
The lesson is also recorded on video so the missionaries can go back and review their discussions.
Anyone who is willing and has a temple recommend can go volunteer.

While we were waiting for the missionaries to come knock on the door of our room,
we had to come up with a plan of what kind of investigators we were going to pretend to be.
We decided to act as Christians who didn't believe in Prophets.

As the missionaries carried out their 40 minute message, they asked several times if we had any questions.
Because I already knew about Joseph Smith, his vision, the Book of Mormon, and how to pray,
it was really hard to think of questions!
Jay was awesome of course. He asked really great questions that an investigator
would probably ask. But I just kind of sat there and nodded my head.
Nevertheless, it was an awesome experience.

This was my first time ever going to the MTC. I'm super glad I went
and got to get a better look at what goes on there. And now I know what to expect next
time we volunteer at the TRC.
