Jay's Last Day of School

On Monday night I snuck out of the house to join the second-year MBA spouses [MBSA] in decking out the lockers for the student's last day of school.
I covered Jay's locker with Reeses [his favorite], balloons, paper hearts, and a note.
After dropping Jay off at school for his last day on at 8:00am, I could hardly contain my excitement thinking about his reaction upon discovering his locker! I expected to get a phone call or text message soon after he entered the building.
10:00- nothing.
1:00- nothing. I began to wonder how often he even goes to his locker! So I urged him to grab cookies from the MBA lounge, located just past the lockers.
2:00- nothing. I reminded him about the cookies.
3:00- time to pick him up from school. After pulling up, I called and asked if he got his cookies. He didn't. So finally, what else was I to do but simply say, "Go to your locker!"
He came out to the car with a smile on his face.
What a booger.
But I love this booger. He's smart, hilarious, motivated, selfless and crazy hard-working.
The last two years in the MBA program have been incredible. When Jay and I think back to when he was rejected from grad schools 3 years ago, we are SO thankful! It was a time of much frustration and discouragement not knowing what the future held. But it has been made clear to us on multiple occasions that being rejected from those other schools was not a misfortune. The MBA program at Brigham Young University's Marriott School is exactly where we needed to be.
So many dear friendships, learning experiences, and business opportunities have come of it.
Our future is bright! We are indeed grateful and realize how blessed we are.
Tuesday night was Jay's night to celebrate. He requested a home cooked meal and a movie- Star Trek.
The idea of not ever having to attend a college class as a student hasn't really sunk in yet, but he is relieved, and we are both so pumped for all the future has in store!
