In 1982 my mom purchased a dresser at a garage sale. The man she bought it from had used it when he was kid. So already this dresser had a few years on it. Mom brought the dresser home, painted it, and dad added a few pieces of wood along the top so it could be used as a changing table for the babies.
The changing table survived each one of the eight Bramwell children. That's a lot of bums and diaper changes!

I've always been very fond of this piece of furniture mostly for
nostalgic reasons. Knowing this and with a new granddaughter on the way,
mom and dad so generously gifted the changing table to me.
Dad
shipped the changing table off from San Diego and it showed up at our doorstep in
Michigan in the middle of his visit.
BEFORE
Especially considering all it's been through, the dresser was in pretty decent condition. But the drawers needed to be relined, the top needed some sanding, and I figured a fresh coat of paint couldn't hurt.
AFTER
I can't express enough how thrilled I am with the results, and I can't possibly express my gratitude enough to mom and dad for allowing me to be the lucky new owner of this treasured piece of furniture. And most of all, I can't express enough my excitement for all the diaper changes that lie ahead on that changing table with my baby girl.
