It was Jay's first week back at work and Mike worked most of the time they were here, so during the day Kari and I took it easy at home with Evelyn. Physically I was feeling about 95% better and didn't necessarily need extra help around the house, but it was so nice to have some company while Jay was gone at work. It was also quite nice to have extra hands to hold Evelyn. Evelyn and grandma Kari got lots of bonding time in while I napped and accomplished a few tasks around the house. When the guys were done working we all went on walks, watched movies, explored Kellogg Forest, went to Horrocks, and did some good eating at Malia's, Griffin, and Continental.
After attending church with us on Sunday [Evelyn's first time going to church] we stuffed our bellies full with waffles and bacon, then later that day said our goodbyes.
It's been especially hard living far away from family since we had Evelyn. But Jay and I are grateful to the family members who have made trips out here to Michigan to support us.
