-Wears size 3 in diapers.
-Wears size 6-12 months in clothes.
-Rolls and scoots everywhere.
-Sits
up completely on her own. She'll sit on the floor in her room and play
for long periods of time. One time I caught Jay watching her from
outside the room as she played. I asked what he was looking at. His
sweet response: "She's just so fun to look at." I love how he loves her.
-Reaches for me or Jay when she wants to be held.
-When she sees something she wants, like food- she gasps, reaches for it, then pants with her tongue out.
-Will only nurse if we're in a quiet and dark room, otherwise she gets distracted.
-Sucks on her toes.
-Drools everywhere.
-Spits everywhere all the time.
-Very vocal. She's making a lot of new noises and they're sounding less like a baby and more like a toddler.
-I
can't even name all of the new food she's tried this month. We've
basically been feeding her small amounts off our plates. She does not
seem to be a picky eater at all, but definitely shows an opinion. For
example: I was feeding her applesauce and letting her suck on a mandarin
orange. When I fed her the applesauce she cried until I gave her the
orange.
-Responds to her name.
-Holds a bottle by herself.
-Typically
her naps are 40-60 minutes but lately she's been taking longer naps (one to two hours) more frequently, especially on Sunday's
because she doesn't nap at church. Night sleep has been rough.
The longest stretch she had this month was about four hours. Most nights she's up
every two hours. It's been discouraging but we're figuring it out, or we're adjusting to it ha.
-Her favorite part of bath time is watching the water go down the drain.
-LIGHTS up when Jay enters the room. I think she's going to be a daddy's girl. I mean, I don't blame her.
-Is
the happiest in the morning. Often she stops in the middle of nursing
and looks up at me until I smile. She smiles back, then resumes to eating.
It's one of my favorite things in the whole world.
-Loves attacking our faces with kisses [slobber].
-Loves being in the car.
-Loves being at the store.
-Loves being outside.
-Loves her jumper.
-Loves Baby Einstein.
-Loves being read to.
Story time with our favorite bear, brought back from London by papa Jensen.
I helped Evelyn sign a birthday card for Grammy.
Then I asked Jay to sign it...
Jay is usually long gone for work when Evelyn wakes up in the morning. But one morning she decided to wake up nice and early. I can't say it enough, I love watching these two together.
Jess and I were having a conversation about when to start giving babies cow's milk. Later that day at the grocery store, Evelyn would suck on the milk carton then look up at us and giggle. I think she's ready for some cow's milk, ha!
First Costco food court experience.
Listening to LDS General Conference in bed.
Trying on hats at Once Upon a Child. The store doesn't provide shopping carts and I began to sweat with Evelyn in the wrap, so I stuck her in one of the store's strollers. Technically probably not allowed, but Evelyn didn't seem to mind.
First trip to the fabric store. She LOVED all the colors and textures. We've decided to make this a regular activity.
Breakfast with my girl. One of the many highlights of my day.
How is it that every day she grows more lovely, yet yesterday she was no less radiant, no less completely perfect?
