Evelyn | Twelve Months

-Height: 28 inches / 34th percentile
-Weight: 20 pounds 4 ounces / 57 percentile
-Size 4 in diapers.
-Size 12-18 months in clothes.
-Cut her first tooth one week before her first birthday.
-Walks along the couch and will walk holding on to both or just one of our hands.
-She has two small balls that rattle when they're shaken or rolled. One of her favorite activities is to roll and chase both of them throughout the house. Often when she fishes through her toy bin she's specifically looking for those balls.
-Typically she has at least one 1 1/2-2 hour naps a day, and also takes a shorter 40 minute nap. After a year of sleeping (at best) 5 hour stretches at night, Evelyn slept from 7:00pm to 7:00am for three consecutive nights. I didn't get my hopes up about it, and sure enough was up multiple times on the fourth night. She's just simply not a good sleeper, but she makes up for it in many other ways.
-Tries to escape when I'm changing her diaper or clothes and usually has to be distracted with a toy.
-Throws mild tantrums.
-Crawls everywhere! She's getting busier by the day.
-Eats basically anything and everything we put in front of her.
-Breastfeeds 2-3 times a day, and anywhere from 1-3 times in the night. Because my milk supply is dropping, so often when I breastfeed her at night I think it serves as more of a comfort rather than a source of nourishment. We're in the final stretch of breastfeeding so I'm trying to savor every moment of it.
-Rips off her headbands 95% of the time. And it kind of breaks my heart.
-Loves playing with blind cords, electric outlets, electrical cords, doors, door stops, cupboard doors, and pretty much anything that's not a toy.
-Loves Baby Einsein videos. We usually play the videos through the iPad, so now she shakes her arms and pants like a dog when she sees the iPad.
-Makes a lot of random noises, but her favorite is "dada" or just "dad" and when she says it I don't think she knows what shes saying. It's dang cute though and we look forward to when she says more words.
-Loves baths and sometimes while the bath water is warming up she throws mini tantrums because she's too excited and impatient.
-Loves being outside, especially going for walks in the stroller.
-Loves car rides.
-Loves tagging along on errands and always gets lots of attention while we're out.
-Loves going to the park. There isn't a whole lot she can really benefit from at the park besides the swings, but we've had a lot of opportunities to go with ward members and she seems to love just being surrounded by other little ones. Ezra is one of her regular park buddies. They're a little less than two years apart and don't interact much, ha, but Ezra's mom and I have a great time getting together.
-Loves her Binky-Bear.
-Loves her puppy Kella.
-Nicknames: Peanut, Love, Gorgeous, Leven, Birdie, Stinker-Binker.

First tooth!

When she puts the binky in herself...
She has been doing this for the longest time and I keep thinking she'll get the hang of it, but now I'm thinking maybe she prefers it upside down.

Kella's always there to greet sister after nap time. The bond between these two gets sweeter by the day.

Big girl car seat. We're both loving the new view.

Twelve month doctor's visit. She had to get four shots and they were doozies. I've never seen her cry SO hard. But she is overall happy and healthy and we are so grateful.
