Evelyn's First Birthday Party

After getting in to Corona Friday afternoon I went straight into party prep- making cupcakes and shopping for food at Costco with Renee. Meanwhile Evelyn was thrilled to be at Grandma and Papa Jensen's house.

Breakfast with the birthday girl at The Original Pancake House.

After breakfast we raced home to finish preparing food for the party then drove to Irvine where the party was being held. Everyone was incredibly generous and helpful with all the party preparations. Being able to celebrate Evelyn's birthday in California surrounded by our family was so special. We're so very grateful to everyone who came and showed their support.

Kari insisted Evelyn open one of her presents early and I'm so glad she did!

Evelyn worked on her cake for a good 20 minutes. At first she was very gentle and cautious which was surprising, knowing what a good eater she is. But it didn't take long for her to get into it.

She crashed on my shoulder (I can't even recall the last time that happened) before the party officially ended. I carried her across the street to Mike and Kari's house, then we snuggled on the couch. It was the absolute best ending to a wonderful day of celebrating the sweetest baby ever born.
