Six Years

Because we spent our five year anniversary tending to a month old baby, Jay suggested this year we splurge. And boy did we... A baby-free weekend including a temple trip, fancy steak dinner, an absolutely incredible Cirque du Soleil show, and a penthouse suite at the MGM grand.

Gramma and Papa Jensen drove to Vegas from Corona on Friday evening to care for our Evelyn so Jay and I could get started on our celebrations first thing Saturday morning with a trip to the temple.

We scored a killer room with a balcony on the 33rd floor in The Signature at MGM Grand.

After getting settled in our room, we took an uber over to Treasure Island. Our uber driver was from Uganda and spoke great English but had a very heavy accent. He could not believe Jay and I were married, he thought for sure we were brother and sister. And then we told him we had a baby he about lost it. We arrived at Treasure Island where we ate dinner at Phil's Italian Steakhouse. We were a little unclear on the portions of each of the sides, so we ended up with way too much food, making this our most expensive dining experience yet. But it was absolutely worth it.

With this being our first night away from Evelyn, you can imagine we were looking forward to a full night's rest. And we slept great right up until 5:00am when the alarm clock in our room went off... Fortunately we were able to fall right back asleep and didn't wake up until 9:30am. It was amazing!
