Jay wasn't around to dress up with us this year. Major bummer. I almost used it as an excuse to bow out of dressing up as well as attending our ward Trunk-or-Treat. During a chat over the phone with Jess a day before the ward party, I was persuaded to go to the Trunk-or-Treat, if anything for Evelyn's sake. I knew Evelyn and I could have shown up without dressing up but that just sounded too lame. So within an hour I came up with a costume idea, spent $4 on supplies at Walmart, then put our costumes together.

Our ward Trunk-or-Treat was a blast! It killed me knowing Jay was missing out but just as Jess said, for Evelyn's sake it was totally worth going. She didn't do any trunk-or-treating but loved playing with bubbles and glow sticks, dancing to loud music, eating chili, and watching all the other kids parade around in their costumes. Seeing what a thrill she got out of Halloween this year has me so pumped to see her at Christmas.
