Fame

I am in love with my job.
And it is not even necessarily where I work, but WHAT I do.
Almost every day as I've got a customer in the chair they will ask either why I decided to do hair, or ask if its something I've always wanted to do.
Its a blessing to be able to say that I'm doing what I love.

Back when I was a wee one I had a doll which I named Marissa. She was actually just shoulders and a head.
You know these kinds of dolls, except mine was much prettier than that terrible Bratz doll.
I loved getting Marissa all dolled up. I also recall loving my Barbies and LOVING to cut their hair. Mom wasn't happy about that but hey, I had to start somewhere.
Doing hair is something I feel I was born to do.
I get to meet on average, 8 new people every day.
Some I'd rather not ever see again, but most are wonderful.
And the old folks oohhh the old folks, they are either some of the most grumpy human beings, or absolute angels.

And some of those people just happen to be famous.
One Wednesday morning a man named Scott Lazerson sat in my chair.
I had no idea who he was but he told me of all the people has worked with like Paris Hilton, Eva Longoria and Lindsay Lohan.
I looked him up and sure enough there he is with Paris.

This last week, a man come in that looked SO familiar.
He sat down in the other Stylist's chair then I heard her ask him "Are from The Singles Ward?" Immediately I said "You're DeVerl!"
If you have not seen the movie, please do and don't try to deny that DeVerl is your favorite character.
Lincoln Hoppe is his name and he was about to start shooting for a new movie so he came in to get his hair cut for his character.
If I haven't said it already, I love my job.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this post. It makes me happy that you are so happy after your years of dedication to jobs you weren't so happy with. And how cool it is that you get to meet such an amazing array of people.
