I remember the first time I met Grandma and Grandpa Jensen in St George, Utah.
Jay had such amazing things to say about his grandparents. We were only dating at the time and I was feeling a little intimidated.
But from day one I felt completely loved and accepted by these sweet people.
The past two Thanksgivings, Jay and I went down to St George where we met his sister, Dad and Renee at Grandpa and Grandma Jensen's house.
It was always a wonderful time and Grandpa and Grandma were the best hosts.

Throughout the years Grandpa has dealt with a lot of surgeries and other health problems which has left him in discomfort.
About 2 weeks ago, his head was bothering him so bad that he went to go to the doctor.
After the check up, the doctor told him he had excess blood going into his brain and needed to go to the hospital as soon as possible.
A procedure was done to drain the blood, which went well.
Within a day his heart had stopped beating.
The nurses tried to resuscitate him but his body was just too worn down.

Wilbur Orion Jensen passed away on September 16, 2011. He was born April 16, 1925 in Preston Idaho to Orion and Lottie Eakin Jensen. He had three sisters; Fae, Zelda and Ondelyn.
He served in World War II in the V12 program, and the Korean War as a Dentist, followed later in life by numerous professional and religious positions.
In 1947 he and Virginia Murphy were married in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. They were blessed with four children; Rebecca, Kaye, Richard and David.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters Zelda and Fae. He is survived by his wife Virginia and their four children, sister Ondelyn, as well as 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is known for his integrity, his caring ways and agreeable nature. He loved and is loved by his family and friends, he will be missed by all.
Last Friday Jay and I drove down for the funeral.
The circumstances of us going were of course not wished upon, but it really was a lovely weekend.
I finally got to meet more of Jay's aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Let me just say that I couldn't feel more blessed to have married into such a wonderful family.
The funeral was beautiful. Grandpa had accomplished SO much in his life and touched so many people.
Rich (Jay's dad) gave the Eulogy and a few of the grand kids shared some memories with their grandfather.
Renee sang one of my absolute favorite hymns "I know My Redeemer Lives" and it was nothing short of gorgeous.
To honor Grandpa serving in the military, over at the cemetery they had a 21 Gun Salute.
The most touching moment for me during that whole weekend was at the end of the viewing before they closed the casket...
Grandma stumbled her way towards the casket then bent down and kissed her sweetheart of 64 years, as tears rolled down her face.
I cannot even imagine the feelings that Grandma must have had in that moment.
We love her so much and pray for her comfort.
Wilbur and Virginia Jensen
You'll notice on her right hand she is wearing Grandpa's Wedding ring. She was so happy to show us that it fit her perfectly.

What a blessing to have the knowledge we do as members of the church, about death.
I know with all my heart that the plan of salvation is real.
I know that death is a necessary step to our salvation.
And I know that this life (even though most times it doesn't feel like it) is short and Grandma will be with her sweetheart again.
