Steph & Dad Visit | General Conference Weekend October 2011

Dad and Steph drove up from San Diego this weekend! We loved having them here.
I was excited to spend time with my little sis and I've recently come to realize that she is not so little anymore. It makes me sad because I miss seeing and hearing all the adorable things she did. I do love that she is getting older though. She is now 14 and blossoming into such a gorgeous little lady. We can finally start to talk on a little bit more of a personal level and even fit into the same shoes! Now if only we lived closer we could share...

Friday morning I chopped about 4 or 5 inches off her hair then went with Jay and Dad to lunch at Tacanos.

Steph and I fit in lots of other fun things during her weekend here.

We made chocolate pretzels while listening to the Saturday morning session of Conference.
Went to the mall and bought shoes.
Had a little photo shoot.
Go here to my photo blog to see more of the beautiful Stephanie.
I can't get over how stunning my sister is!
This took place while Jay and my Dad went to the actual priesthood session in Salt Lake.
After the photo shoot, Steph and I had a fun girls night eating pizza and watching Father of the Bride Part 2.

Dad brought tickets to the Sunday afternoon session of Conference and it was quite a journey to get there.
We had to drive about 25 min to a train station in Sandy, where we took a train to Salt Lake which took about 30 min. It was an hour from the time we got off the train, walked to Temple Square and waited in line to get into the conference center. The session was 2 hours and once it was over we left the same way we came.
Basically we left our place at 12:00 and didn't get home til about 6:30.
Nevertheless, Conference was completely worth it.
Even though from our seats the Prophet and all the General Authorities looked like ants, its unreal just to be in the same room as them.
And when the WHOLE congregation (10,000 people +) stood up to sing one of the Hymns, I couldn't help but have goosebumps through out the entire song.
Music is so powerful especially in a setting like that.

Riding the train was also a cool experience.
I made pesto sandwiches for us to eat on the way.

Just before my Dad came up, he told me on the phone to make room for ice cream and to "get rid of all those frozen veggies and unnecessary items" in my freezer.
Oh Marty.
The man once again came through...
Not only does Dad deliver ice cream but he is quite a handyman.
Previous times that he has come and stayed with us, he has complained about our toilet being weak and getting clogged easily.
While these things are true, Jay and I have been used to it and never bothers us.
But it bothered my Dad enough to go buy and install a new one.

Dad, you are the best. We appreciate you always taking such good care of us.
And we loved having you and Steph here! Thanks again for everything.
We love you both tons!
