On Wednesday afternoon we went up to Salt Lake and checked into our room at the Anniversary Inn.
If you haven't heard of this place or ever looked into it, I would encourage you to do so!
All of the rooms have different themes, and there are so many to choose from.
We decided on...
I think we chose wisely.
The HUGE jetted bathtub alone was worth every penny.
And when you close the white curtains and turn on the shower that's coming from the ceiling, you kind of feel like you're in a heavenly waterfall.

A TV so conveniently placed above the bath.
Up on the balcony is the bed.
And might I add, one of the most wonderful, comfortable beds I've ever slept in.

Oh look, another TV!
The hotel staff was so warm and friendly. When we checked in, the front desk said, "Now here is your key, and waiting for you in your room is sparkling cider, then in your fridge is cheesecake". Um can I stay here forever?
A book left for guests to write a little bit about their stay in the room.
This one was my favorite.
That evening, we went to The Melting Pot for dinner and dessert.
We went all out and did the 4 course meal; cheese fondue with veggies, apples and bread, then salads, then a platter of uncooked steak, chicken, pot stickers, shrimp and more veggies, with broth to cook it in, AND with delicious dipping sauces.
To end our delectable feast we had peanut butter milk chocolate with cheesecake, strawberries, bananas, brownies, red velvet cake, graham cracker marshmallows, AND oreo marshmallows.
Oh and we ate pretty much all of it.
That night we went back to our room completely stuffed, but we couldn't let our sparkling cider and cheesecake go to waste :).
The next morning and 8:30, our breakfast was delivered to our room.
Oh and we ate all of that too. Don't judge.
Before going to the Hunger Games showing at 11:30, we explored around the city and came across Utah's Capitol Building.
Jay, having his Rocky moment.
The building was field trip central while we were there and I can see why- its beautiful!
They said that chandelier weighs 5,000 pounds!
There were lots of beautiful statues, including this one of Brigham Young.
While exploring the building we came across Governor's office, as well as, the House of Representatives' meeting rooms.
After seeing the Hunger Games, we grabbed some Subway for lunch and headed home.
It was such a perfect little getaway! The only thing that could have made it more perfect is if it were longer.
But it was so wonderful to be with each other and not have to worry about anything or anyone else. (Thank you to Monica for puppy-sitting our Mouse.)

One year anniversary- cruise.
Two year anniversary- fancy eating and luxurious hotel room.
Can't wait to see what we can come up with for year three!
