I sure missed Jay when he left for his weekend rafting trip.
This was the first time he left me all by myself in our apartment.
Luckily with the Johnson family upstairs I didn't feel completely alone.

Nights were the hard part, but it was only a weekend and I got through it with a little help from Mouse.
And luckily dad was here!
He happened to be in town for work on the day that Jay left.

in the day, dad would rotate with all 8 kids and take us each on
individual "dates".
We got to pick a restaurant and something fun to go do.
Even though I was a total mommy's girl as a kid, I was always excited to go on a date with dad.
Now as I'm grown and live away from home, I look back and am just so impressed that dad took the time to do that for all 8 of us!
I love and respect him so much for being that kind of a father.

On our date we ate at Zupas, then we took Mouse on a walk, and then I introuduced dad to The Chocolate- one of the best dessert places in town.

LOL!!!! I absolutely LOVE that picture of you and your dad. It made me laugh out loud, even though i'm in the girls room trying to be quiet while they go to sleep. So cute. I'm glad we could be a little source of comfort while Jay was gone.
