Our first Sunday in the Bartlett 1st Ward was overwhelming.
The second we sat down, people flooded over introducing themselves and welcoming us into the ward.
It was the same deal on our second Sunday. People wanted to get to know us, and we even got a couple of dinner invitations.
We discovered a few things we have in common with a couple of our ward members...
One family shares our last name, and there is man that shares Jay's first name and his exact height.
It was a fun coincidence to come across another Jay who is 6' 7''. They looked pretty awesome standing next to each other.
We felt especially welcome when Brother McAllister asked us to speak the following Sunday:/.
The next Sunday [June 9th] came and we gave our talks.
Though nerve-racking, speaking was a good experience to introduce ourselves and share our testimonies.
By the end of church that day we had three dinner invitations! Like I said, it's been overwhelming.
We are so grateful for the love we feel from these people.
Because of the new friendships we have made, the day we leave to go back to Provo will truly be a bittersweet one.
