Memphis Zoo

We got to the zoo at 9:00am- right when it opened. Boy were we smart to get there early.
We practically had the place to ourselves and managed to see everything in only 2 1/2 hours.

Another reason for going early was to hopefully avoid the heat. It's dang hot even by 10:00.
Luckily when we arrived it was overcast and the temperature was in the 70's.
But right around 10:30 the sun started to peak through and the humidity increased like 50% [or so it felt].
Usually I can bare to wear long jeans in the summer. But on that hot, sweaty, oh so sweaty, spring day at the zoo,
I learned I won't be able to get away with that here.

Around 11:00 we were quite parched and the peach-orange soda in the vending machine sounded a m a z i n g
But then the machine ate our 2 dollars. We were so distraught!
By that time, we had seen just about everything, so we finished up and headed home.
Nonetheless, Jay and I had such a blast at the zoo.

The most fun part of seeing the animals was when we would talk for them, and say things that we thought they were thinking.
You had to be there, but seriously we found it so entertaining.
Public places like the zoo are always fun because of the wide variety of people you come across.
And sometimes you overhear lots of great stuff.
As we were admiring the lions, we overheard a man talking to his son about the lions.
Only, he kept calling them tigers. "Look son, look at the tigers!" Haha, awesome.

Taking a breather.
