On Sunday the 19th, Jay was scheduled to fly to Michigan [Kellogg's Headquarters] for orientation.
I drove him to the airport [about 30 min away] in the morning, kissed him goodbye then drove home.
He
called and informed me at 11:00 that his first flight was delayed and he
wasn't sure if he would make his second flight because of it.
After
waiting around at the airport for several hours, his flight was
officially cancelled, which obviously meant that he would miss his
second flight.
It also meant that he would miss the
first day of orientation. Poor guy!
So at 4:00 I drove to the airport and picked him up.
On Monday morning I drove him back to the airport. What a fiasco.
Luckily everything ran on schedule that day and after 3 flights, he made it to orientation.

Because he did a field study
with Kellogg's, Jay was already really familiar with the company.
He
did learn some new things though, and had a great time catching up with
his friend/classmate Adam.
Thursday was the first day of his internship.
[Kellogg's Cereal plant in downtown Memphis]
He
is working in Human Resources. His duties for the summer consist of
learning more about manufacturing, and improving leadership effectiveness.

Jay has also learned how cereal is made!
I was dying to get a tour of the factory, but they have limited it to employees only.
[So handsome on his first day.]
Kellogg's has been showering us with gifts ever since Jay accepted the internship.
So far we have accumulated a mug, bowl, 2 massive duffle bags, 2 shirts, a BBQ kit, LOTS of cereal,
and Tony the Tiger. Mouse is in love.
But really, when she plays with him it always looks something like this...
