Bartlett to Provo

On Tuesday August 13th, we began our [1,587 miles, 23 hours] trek back to Provo.

In the morning we hit some crazy rain driving through Arkansas.
Jay gets pretty nervous driving in the rain, and was thrilled to see blue skies as we went through Oklahoma and Kansas.
We thoroughly enojyed our big, fancy room at the Hampton Inn in the middle of nowhere- Mulvane, Kansas.

Literally the second we got settled into our room it poured rain.
We couldn't even see outside, it just looked like someone was spraying the window with a large hose.
We felt fortune to have missed the flood on our drive.

We ate dinner at one of the restaurants inside the casino, which was located inside the hotel.
Before entering, I had to run back up to our room and get my ID... The security questioned whether I was really over 21.
It was nice not having to worry about driving out in the awful weather to get dinner.
We ate our food, soaked our feet in the hot tub, took pictures of the double rainbow, then rested for the next day.
On Wednesday we made our way through Kansas, then on to Colorado.
Our stay in Denver, Colorado was uneventful.
We were tired and just anxious to get on with our last 8 hour day of driving.
Jay is pretty wonderful. He drove the whole way to Memphis, and again coming back to Provo.
He always insists on driving on road trips. I don't know if its because of my bad driving, but I sure love him for it.
Wyoming.
Rather than going back through the Rocky Mountains of Colorado,
our GPS took us to North Colorado, then all the way through Wyoming. It was nearly 7 hours of flat, dry, dead land.
We only made one stop for gas and a restroom. But it was kind of an awful restroom experience...
I'm talking clogged toilets, and lots of flies.
If I never ever drive through Wyoming again, it would be absolutely ok.
I never thought I would be so relived to be back in Utah
It was a beautiful drive through the Heber, then down to the Provo canyon, and then home.
