The Provo Recreation Center


After taking a tour of the Provo Rec Center a month ago, Jay and I officially joined!
This was exciting news, but I always get nervous about getting back into a workout groove.
It can be difficult. When you feel like you're going to vomit after just ten minutes on the treadmill... Not fun.

Jay suggested we go on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday mornings.
I'm not a morning person quite like he is. And I prefer not to workout on an empty stomach. So this would mean I'd have to get up even earlier to make sure I had time to eat, then let my food digest a little.
I thought I'd try it for a week then go from there.

6:00 on Monday morning came. It was cold and still very dark outside. I did NOT want to get out of bed. 
I remembered getting up for seminary at 5:00 every morning. [How did I do that for four years??]
But I got up, ate my breakfast, then went to the Rec Center with Jay.
By the time we got there, I was awake and ready to roll.

We followed through with our plan and went on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
By Friday, I woke up before my alarm even went off!
It's only been a week, but so far I am loving this schedule. Mentally and physically I'm feeling great!

The Rec center really has everything. And since it only opened a few months ago, everything is brand new.
I've been especially fond of the indoor running track. 
Also, I bought new running shoes. That's how serious I am.
Jay is loving it as well.
He's been able to practice some of his racquetball skills since taking a class last semester.
