On Wednesday we made a trip over to the Wilson's to pick up the washer and dryer they're loaning us for the summer. Also, we scored a free piano! Seriously don't know what we would have done without them.
After Garth, Jay, and the Missionaries loaded everything into our house, Jay and I noticed that the house needed some cleaning. We made a plan to come back and clean before the movers were scheduled to come.
On Friday we showed up at the house around 8:30am and got to work. From 9:30am to 11:30am the movers unloaded our things.
It wasn't until unpacking when I realized just how much cleaning the house needed. Some of it was a need and some of it was just my OCD kicking in. It's an older house that has homed who knows how many people through the years. Cleaning away all evidence of any previous tenants felt necessary in order for this place to feel like OUR home.
Between my love for cleaning and organizing, and the excitement of being in a new place, I
was stoked for all the unpacking ahead. On our first day I worked
from 8:30am to 11:00pm. At 8:00pm Jay couldn't believe I was still
going. I couldn't believe it either. My body was so dang tired and sore, but I was just in one of my grooves! And thanks
to my groove we unpacked the kitchen, our bedroom, and got a space all
prepared for our pup.
