I've always put a lot of thought into how I would surprise Jay and celebrate his birthday. He always appreciated my efforts and I'd say we've had some pretty good times celebrating birthdays. But after 4 years of marriage, I've learned that Jay truly and honestly prefers quiet celebrations. He claims that nothing beats being at home and enjoying a home-cooked meal with me. I of course enjoy those things too! But when it came to birthdays, I always feared by not doing something big or extra special, I would be a bad wife! But again, I have learned that this is not the case.
I'm thankful for the easy-going, sweet man that he is. I love him so dearly and am so thankful he was born 31 years ago!
On Friday Jay headed off to work in a car full of balloons and Reese's, along with a card. At 12:00 he came home from work. We ate lunch and watched Friends together. Then he relaxed until dinner time. For dinner I made a copycat version of one of his favorite meals- Penne Rustica with Rosemary bread from Macaroni Grill. After our successful and delicious dinner, I gave him a good head massage, then we enjoyed a homemade Reese's pie while watching more Friends.
