The First Snowfall

On Thursday morning I watched the first snowfall of the season from my kitchen window.
It was only two- maybe three months ago that I would take a big blanket, a glass of lemonade, and a book out to the middle of our yard and bask in the stifling hot sun surrounded by green lush trees. It was only one month ago that the leaves on those trees turned completely yellow, orange, red, and brown. It was only a couple weeks ago that the trees were officially stripped of all their leaves which then covered the yard, and the temperatures began to drop to 50 degrees. And now here we were in the middle of November; the yard was completely covered in snow and the temperatures down to nearly 20 degrees
This cycle is nothing new. It's been happening year after year and it will continue to do so. But in that moment of watching the snow fall I was genuinely amazed by this beautiful pattern of the seasons.

Snow so early in November means that we're quite possibly in for a long and brutal winter. However, I plan to embrace this time of year. I take great comfort in knowing that soon I'll be back out on that blanket sweating under the stifling hot sun [joined by my little lady :)].

As for Kella's feeling on snow... I'm predicting that if it were up to her it would be snowing all year-round. I've literally never seen that pooch happier than when she's prancing around or even just laying in the snow.
