-Front hairline filling in again.
-Giggled for the first time. She's done it a few times but I haven't been able to capture it on camera yet.
-First movie- Avengers: Age of Ultron. We almost didn't bring her along because we feared the movie would be way too loud. She slept in my arms through the entire thing!
-Neck muscles are getting stronger every day, she's so good at holding her head up .
-Sucks on her fingers.
-Gets the hiccups nearly every time after she's been really chatty. Then it makes her mad.
-Drools like crazy.
-Rolled over from her belly to her back.
-Spits up wayyy less.

-Loves her bouncer. [Seriously one of our smartest investments.]
-Loves bath time.
-Loves Baby Einstein.
-Loves being outside.
-Loves going for walks in the stroller.
-Loves to smile and coo at herself in the mirror.
-Loves the sound of the rain. One particular time she was fussy and overtired, then a good rain/thunderstorm came through. When I brought her over to the window to listen to the rain she was instantly so calm and content.
-Is getting better at keeping the binky in her mouth.
-Gently rubs my chest and grabs my hair while nursing.
-Grabs at her toys. It's such a thrill to watch her eye a certain toy then try to figure out how to grab it, then once she grabs it she has this look on her face like she has no idea what to do next.
-Still doesn't love her car seat, but it's getting better and she's content for longer periods of time.

They
really don't interact much but Kella is very gentle with Evelyn.
She loves to soak Evelyn with kisses which is sweet but also kind of
grosses me out.
Neighborhood picnic- 6/6/15
Melissa, Herschel, and Jesse stopped by for an afternoon during their visit to Michigan.
For the first month of her life, Evelyn pretty much stayed asleep in her car seat while we were out running errands. But she came to loathe the car seat. One time in particular, we had already had a rough day trying to cope with the Monday blues
so I thought it would do us both some good to get out of the house.
Within 5 minutes of walking into the grocery store Evelyn was not happy.
Since I've gotten pretty good at doing things with one hand, I figured
shopping while holding my babe would be no problem. About 10 minutes later Evelyn made it very clear that it was
a problem. It hadn't been that long since she ate so I knew she wasn't
hungry, but I also knew that nursing was sure to calm her down. After
grabbing a couple more groceries, I raced my cart and crying child to
the other side of the store where I knew we'd have some privacy [at
least more privacy than in the produce section of the store]. We spent a
good 15 minutes in the Barbie isle nursing, then Evelyn was content all
the way up until the check out counter.
The following week I planned my grocery shopping around Jay's schedule, so he could come to provide support in case things went south again. And of course when Jay came along she was just fine in her car seat.
The
following week I ditched the car seat before entering the grocery store
and took a chance on the baby carrier. Evelyn was as content as could
be the whole time! We've gone on a few more shopping trips using the
carrier since then and it hasn't failed us yet. I feel silly for not
trying the carrier sooner. I just didn't want to deal with taking her in
and out of the car seat, but gosh, it's totally worth it. I'm so
relieved to have found a solution to our shopping dilemma. At least for
now.
Since Evelyn was a breech baby, as a precaution the doctor suggested taking her in for an ultrasound on her hips. Basically the ultrasound was done to make sure nothing was
funky with her joints. Evelyn was so calm through the whole thing, she
even fell asleep. Something about being in a dark room with white noise
coming from the sonogram machine. We weren't too worried about getting
negative results, but it was a relief to get the ultrasound out of the
way and receive the news that all was well.
