On July 12th 2014, I took a pregnancy test and it came out positive. One of the most wonderful and surreal moments of my life! And here we are exactly one year later celebrating four months with our Evelyn. It's all still so wonderfully surreal.
-Height: 24 inches / 36th percentile
-Weight: 11 pounds 13 ounces / 12th percentile
-Wearing size 2 in diapers.
-Wearing size 3-6 months in clothes but also still fits in a few of her newborn outfits.
-Rolls all over the place. I lay her in the crib on her back but when I go to check on her she's always sleeping on her tummy. And she's usually on the opposite side of the crib from where I laid her down. The doctor said Evelyn is very active and strong for her age and wouldn't be surprised if she started crawling and walking early.
-Hand coordination is getting better every day. Not only can she grab her toys, but she's also able to put them in her mouth.
-Always grabbing at my chest, hair, shirt, or whatever she can get her hands on while nursing.
-Neck muscles are getting stronger.
-So happy in the mornings. When I walk into the room she greets me with the biggest smile ever and sometimes even squeals with excitement.
-If she's not sucking on her binky, she's sucking on her fingers.
-Hardly ever spits up.
-She doesn't seem to have a strong preference over me or Jay but she definitely knows when she's not being held by one of us. The Powell's were over for haircuts one day and when I handed Evelyn over to Brother Powell, she took one look at him then her lip dropped and she wailed as if she were in excruciating pain. The second he handed her back to me she was totally fine!
-Drools like crazy.
-Loves her bouncer.
-Loves her rock-a-roo.
-Loves Baby Einstein videos.
-Loves being outside.
-Loves bath time.
-Loves to coo and smile at herself in the mirror.
-Enjoying her car seat a little bit more every day.
-Loved spending time with grandma and grandpa Jensen during their visit.
-Overall such a happy baby, it's not too hard to get her to smile and giggle.
-Nicknames: Peanut, Brittle, Love, Gorgeous.
Four month doctor's visit [before the shots].
It's difficult for me to pay attention in church these days. Evelyn and I are either nursing in the mother's lounge or smiling and cooing at each other during talks and lessons. When I told my dad, he comforted me with his response: "Pay attention to her. You'll have church all your life."
Hangin in the basement after a tornado warning.
Watching in awe as dad mows the lawn.
Family day date at Thai Cuisine- one of our favorite restaurants in Kalamazoo.
Chatting into the mirror.
