The Abbett's are new ward members who so kindly invited our little family over for dinner. They are a solid couple who just returned from serving a mission in Chicago and are now enjoying the retired life in their lake house. After dinner we joined them for one of their evening boat rides. This was Evelyn's first boat ride. The sun was out but the wind was fierce. Halfway through the ride Evelyn decided she was done, so we did our best to keep her warm and safe from the wind until we got back to the house. I would have loved to stay for sunset but it was already past Evelyn's bedtime. Nonetheless, it was an absolute pleasure getting to know the Abbett's, and enjoying a new part of our town during such a perfect time of year.
