It had been wayyy too long since Jay and I had seen Jerris- she hadn't even met Evelyn yet, so we were pretty pumped when she told us she was coming to Michigan for Christmas.
I picked her up at the Kalamazoo airport. Before hopping in the front seat of the car Jerris took a quick peak at Evelyn in the back seat. Evelyn is at a stage where she's very cautious of strangers... When Jerris opened the car door to say hello, Evelyn flipped out and continued to cry the rest of the 25 minute drive home. Evelyn warmed up to Jerris by the next day and they were the sweetest little blonde buddies.
Jerris is such a gem and we loved every second of her visit. It was so nice having extra hands around to help care for Evelyn. We stayed up late eating junk food and watching Sherlock Holmes and the Office, made and delivered holiday treats to a few families in the ward, saw the Christmas lights downtown, watched a few Christmas movies, and the highlight of her stay: Chicago!
