Since Jay wouldn't be around on move-in day, my mom and Steph drove from San Diego to help out and to deliver Kella who had been staying with them for two weeks. Mom and Steph weren't able to make it to Vegas until late Wednesday evening, which left me alone with the movers all day. It was a little bit stressful transporting our luggage from the Goodman's house to our new house and getting there early enough for the movers, all while tending to Evelyn. Overall I could not have asked for a better move-in day.
The movers arrived on January 20th at 9:00am and left around 4:00pm. All of our belongings were numbered with stickers, so as everything was being unloaded from the truck all I had to do was stand by the door and check off numbers as the movers read them off.

Evelyn took a three hour nap that day which is rare, but there couldn't have been a better day for her to do that. The movers kindly emptied all the boxes and then loaded the empty boxes back in the truck so I wouldn't have to worry about disposing them. Once the movers left, Evelyn and I got dinner, I put her to bed, then got busy while I waited for mom, Steph, and Kella to arrive. Overall I could not have asked for a better move-in day.
I had hoped to at least get the main rooms unpacked and put together before Jay came home for the weekend but thanks to my amazing mom and sister, the entire house was completely unpacked (not fully organized, but totally unpacked) within two days. This left extra time to have some fun with my favorite girls. We did some shopping, I repaid them for their unpacking and cleaning services with my hair services, and once Jay got home on Saturday we went on a long overdue date to Naga Thai while mom and Steph babysat.
It was a blessing to have Jay home for the weekend before traveling back to Ann Arbor for his second week of orientation. I took this opportunity to drive back with my mom and Steph and spend a few days San Diego, then planned to drive back home to Vegas with Jess, who was anxious to see our new place. The fact that all this driving back and forth is now an option for me and my family is just incredible. Being 300 miles verses 2,200 miles away from family is almost too good to be true.
