Miragie

This is Miragie ( 2000 Mitzibishi Mirage). Here we are just getting acquainted in 2007.
Nobody can forget the feeling of getting their first car.
We were so happy. She was so good to me. She drove so nice, she was tiny making parking down at the beach the best thing ever, she was in good condition, she was black and she was mine.

Last October she was in an accident.
Even though Miragie was declared dead (totaled) she still drove OK. So we took the money the insurance company gave us and kept her.

She runs pretty good but there were and still are a lot of little things that need fixing.
For example, the back left door does not close all the way. It closes enough that I can drive and it won't flap open. However, when its not closed all the way my 'open door' light is on which will eventually drain my battery. My solution? Duct tape.

The back of my car got the worst of it. The trunk is smashed in making it basically useless. Because of the way it got smashed in, it is not weatherproof. My solution? Duct tape!

The before and after.

A couple weeks ago I had to pull over because of a weird noise coming from my front bumper.
I got out of the car to find the bumper hanging on by one screw. I tried my best to line it back up to where it is supposed to be, then gave it a good kick and it seemed to be holding pretty well.
Only a few days later I walked out to my car after work and the bumper was pathetically lying in the street.
I suppose it was a blessing that it happened that way, rather than it falling completely off as I was driving.
Just when I thought she couldn't possibly look any more white trash.

At this point I'd rather not put much effort or money into her.
Its very sad to see Miragie suffer this past year. I'm still glad to have her though.
She does her best with what she has left to get me around.

When I got my new job we decided that all of my tips would go towards saving for a new car.
Jay suggested that I look online to get an idea for what kind of car I want.
Currently, this little beauty is what captures my eye.
I think these little Golf's are the cutest things. Couldn't you picture us together?
Miragie, I know you're hanging by a thread but please just keep yourself together a wee bit longer.

You should totally duct tape that bumper back on! It would match the rest of the car...
