A Little Bit of Memphis

Tennessee is very well known for their food, particularly BBQ.
There are plenty of good restaurants here that we are familiar with, but we decided to be adventurous this summer and try lots of new things.

On our second day in Memphis, Jay's new co-worker Mike, took us out for a real BBQ experience.
We went to [supposedly] the second best place in town, Central Avenue BBQ.
Normally I'm not a huge BBQ fan, but their Pork Nachos were to die for!
The day before Jay started his internship, his boss and a couple of co-workers wanted to take us out.
Thanks to them, we had another fantastic dining experience at a place mid-town called, Local.
Our table by the window on the second floor had an awesome view of mid-town Memphis.
And who knew that bacon would make for an aaaamazing dessert?
Unfortunately trying new things means there will most likely be a few disappointments.
Our first disappointment took place at an italian restaurant, Bruno's.
The place was completely empty when we arrived. I guess we should have taken that as a hint...
[Local movie theater, where we saw Iron Man 3.]
The weather is perfect.
Its definitely more humid here than it is in Utah, but nothing too unbearable.
The temperature is in the 80's which is hot but again, not too bad.
We are told it's only going to get worse, so I am just trying to enjoy it now.

We are also told that Tennessee gets some pretty intense rainstorms.
Last week a crazy loud thunderstorm woke me up at 3 in the morning. It was so exciting!
The storm continued throughout the next day. Definitely stoked for more of that.
The trees are everywhere. The bugs are everywhere. The sunsets from our balcony are amazing.
Tennessee has been such a wonderful adventure so far.
