Shopping

[I've had the same shopping technique for awhile and I thought it'd be fun to document it.]

When I have the extra money, I love trips to Target, Forever 21, H&M, T.J.Maxx, and Old Navy.
But when I don't have the spare change and I have an itch to shop...

I make an effort to stay conscious of what clothes, shoes, and accessories do and don't get worn.
Once I realize that I have lost a connection to a certain item, I set it aside in a black garbage bag.
I slowly continue adding to the bag until it's fairly full.
Then I take my black garbage bag to Plato's Closet. Plato's Closet buys and sells "brand name gently used clothing". [And accessories.]
Typically it takes an employee around 15-20 minutes to sort through my bag and decide what's of value to them.
While they're sorting, I browse the store.
[It helps that the clothes are organized by sizes, but browsing can be tedious because you have to look through each item one by one.]
I try on, then set aside my favorite items.

I go up to the front to discuss the items I brought in.
Sometimes they can be super stingey and reject most of the items in my bag.
[Often I'll just keep bringing in the same bag at different times, and slowly they buy more and more of my things. I just have to be careful to not bring it in to the same person.]
And sometimes, they're amazing and pay me good money for my things.

After they've made me an offer, I usually accept the cash.
I sort through the items from the store I had set aside, and calculate what I can afford to buy with the money Plato's offered me.
Then I make my transaction and enjoy my new finds!

Recently I went and scored pretty good.
washed gray jeans $10 | Forever 21 black sweater $8 | long sleeve collar shirt $5 | black ankle boot heels $7
