Baby Jensen | Will You Be A Father?

The short version: Jay proposed to me at a park in Orem, Utah. He proposed without a ring, but assured me I would have one before our wedding in April. We got into his car and just before driving away, Jay asked if I would grab something out of the glove box. I opened the glove box and to my complete surprise found a beautiful gold box with the perfect diamond ring inside.

When we began trying to get pregnant, I knew right away exactly how I wanted to tell Jay that he was going to be a daddy.
I planned to propose fatherhood to him in the same way he proposed marriage to me.
I didn't have all the details set, but I had a box prepared and I planned to take him to the same park he took me to in Orem.

I didn't get pregnant until after we moved, which meant I had to let go of the idea of taking him to the exact same park. But, luckily we like parks and quickly found a new favorite in Michigan.

Once I took that pregnancy test and saw that it was positive, I was DYING to tell Jay. But I had been waiting to carry out my plan for two years. Plus, news like this deserves a special reveal. I was going to make it happen! I dug out the box I made two years ago, placed the pregnancy test in the box [after washing it of course], then stashed it in the glove box of the car.

Trips to the park are part of our evening ritual, but because I was antsy I pushed to go a little earlier. Also, there was a chance of rain in the weather forecast which made it easy to convince Jay to drive rather than walk. So far things were going according to plan and he didn't seem suspicious.
We pulled up to the park and I jumped right out. Once Jay came around to the passenger side I asked if he would grab my cell phone out of the glove box. He opened the glove box and said, "I don't see a cell phone." Then closed it. Ha! I encouraged him to check again. He looked straight at the box but it took him a good five seconds to finally say, "What's this?" He opened it then quickly closed it, tossed it on the car seat and walked away shaking his head saying, "Nope nope nope, I don't believe it!" He came back and opened it again, gave me a sweet look that I'll never forget and said, "Are you serious?" I nodded. He grabbed me and gave me the tightest, longest hug.

We spent our time at the park trying to wrap our heads around the whole thing. We both agreed it was just too good to be true. But it was true!
We were unbelievably ecstatic!
