-Sits up unassisted for short periods of time. She's getting better and stronger every day.
-Reaches her hands out and gets really excited when I go to pick her up.
-Reaches for everything- when she sees food, her bottle, or Kella.
-Is easily startled by loud noises. I took her with me into a public restroom and when I flushed the toilet she screamed bloody murder.
-Rubs my chest and grabs my hair while nursing. She has to nurse in her nursery where it's dark and quiet otherwise she gets too distracted. Nursing in public isn't always very sufficient so I pack a bottle anytime we go out.
-Before laying her in the crib I sing while cradling her in my arms and swaying back and forth. If my hair is down she gently twirls it around her finger as her eyes get heavy. So so precious.
-Sucks on her toes.
-Drools everywhere.
-Spits everywhere.
-Is ticklish on her feet, tummy, and neck.
-So far she has tried and loved rice cereal, carrots, sweet potatoes, rice, chicken, Cheerios, Gerber Puffs, apple sauce, and bananas.

-Getting more vocal. She screams between bites when she's being fed solids- we think that she's just trying to communicate that she wants more. It's so fun to see her personality come alive.
-Seems to respond to her name.
-Holds a bottle by herself most of the time, but still needs a little assistance.

-Got her first cold. Luckily she never got a fever and still acted like her normal self, there was just lots of coughing and sniffling.
-We had been in a pretty good groove- Evelyn put herself to sleep for naps and was waking up one to two times in the night and falling right back asleep after being fed. Naps are still going great, but nights have been brutal for the last couple weeks. She's been waking up every one and half to two hours, and occasionally sleeping a three hour stretch. If she's not able to calm herself down after five or ten minutes, I feed her, but she doesn't always go back to sleep right away. At her six month check up we confirmed that she is perfectly healthy. So maybe this is just another sleep regression? We're just hoping it doesn't last too much longer. Either way, she is an angel during the day and we're always quick to forgive her after a long night.
-Went from crying every time she was in the car seat, to being perfectly content. The other day we were driving and assumed she was asleep since we hadn't heard a peep for a good ten minutes. But nope, she was just enjoying the car ride.
-Loves getting out of the house. She's overall a happy baby whose easy to please, but sometimes I think she fusses simply because she's bored. She's always content at the store or in the car.
-Loves her jumper from Once Upon a Child (gently used baby store).
-Loves her bouncer.
-Loves Baby Einstein videos.
-Loves being outside.
-Loves bath time.
-Loves being read to. She really seems to favor The Very Hungry Caterpiller.

-Loves to coo and smile at herself in the mirror.
-Nicknames: Peanut, Love, Gorgeous, Everlend, Eleven. (While we were in California, my seven year old niece accidentally called her Eleven. And I just recently made the same mistake of calling her Eleven).

Trying out her new chair. Kella is also pretty stoked about it.

Every now and then I bring Evelyn into our bed in the morning so I can get some extra sleep and snuggles with my peanut. One morning after being fed, she was in a total milk daze... I was smiling at her and she smiled back but couldn't keep her eyes open.
He's a total babe magnet.
Six month doctor's visit.
Celebrating her six month birthday/six months of parenthood by eating downtown at Clara's.
