Unfortunately I don't have many pictures to show for my birthday. Fortunately, it was great birthday!
Typically Saturday's are my chore days, but this week since my birthday fell on a Saturday I made an exception and cleaned the house on Friday. A clean house- already off to a good start! Evelyn slept in until almost 8:00am which never happens, which meant I got to sleep in til almost 8:00am. I came downstairs to find a beautiful potted plant, two large bags of Jolly Ranchers (something I had been craving), and a beautiful card from Jay. Jay had also sweetly been offering to make me a cake, but instead I insisted we pick out a yummy treat from Costco. I'm always drooling over their goodies but there's only a small handful I've actually tasted. We pulled up at Costco right as it opened Saturday morning, I picked out a cheesecake and then grabbed a hot dog and smoothie from the food court. It was only 10:30am but it was my birthday! I'm also pregnant with a raging appetite.
Once it got closer to Evelyn's nap time I left Jay in charge and spent a couple hours out shopping by myself. When I got home there was time to relax before Evelyn woke up.
We considered a family outing later that afternoon, but I still hadn't prepared my Primary lesson for the next day. Rather than put it off and stay up late preparing, I dedicated two hours to the lesson and then was able to enjoy the rest of the night with my family.
After Evelyn went to sleep for the night, keeping up with our weekly Panda Express tradition, Jay picked up food then we ate at home together while watching a movie. And later of course cut into that delicious Costco cheescake.
There is so much I have to be grateful for right now in my life, and today I felt especially grateful as I received so much love from friends and family. 25 was a good year and I have no doubt 26 will be just as good, if not better.
